Oh Pixar, You've Outdone Yourself...

somewhere in the attic, my brother's old amazing Buzz Lightyear figure is yearning to be removed from the plastic bag it's probably in.

But that's beside the point.

Today, my dad, brothers, and I saw Toy Story 3.

I remember seeing the original movie in theaters (I was two at the time, but I remember it) and that following Christmas, each of my brothers got either a Buzz or a Woody, and I got a Bo Peep Barbie.

I wish I could say I still had it, but I played with her to the point that her limbs came out of the sockets. :(

Our VHS copy of the first one also lives under my bed, but again, that's also beside the point.

I'd go into a long paragraph or two on how people in my age range could say we grew up, in a sense, with the main child in these movies, Andy. My oldest brother, who was eight when the first one came out, is now 23.

To tell the truth, this new (and hopefully final) installment feels more like a tribute to those of us that grew up on this film series. When the sequel came out, I quickly acquired a playset including Woody's new friends, Bullseye and Jessie (who became my favorite character in the sequel).

This movie definitely has a lot of references that us older fans would understand (just watch the first scene, I couldn't stop cheering, LOL). It's got that traditional Pixar feel, though, appealing to all ages and a message of family and love and whatnot.

The last half hour or so, if you opted to see it in 3D, be grateful for the glasses, they'll do a better job of masking the inevitable waterworks. Either way, bring plenty of tissues. The ending, while heartbreaking, provides plenty of closure and therefore gives us a pretty firm notion that this is, indeed, a wrap.

If you've seen the Yahoo! page of professional critics' reviews, you've probably got a firm expectation to get nothing short of the 99% rating Rotten Tomatoes gave it (Armond White, hang your head in shame and I hope your favorite childhood things get donated to a daycare full of abusive toddlers.)

Seriously, if you grew up on the Toy Story series, you need to make it a priority to see this. There are no major letdowns (unless you count the absence of a character I certainly loved [see above for hint]) and it WILL tug at your heart, unless you're a heartless, soulless, wretch.

Honestly, though, this movie makes me want to sit on my bed hugging my favorite toys and cry, and then play with said toys for old time's sake.

Saw them last night @ the Orlando House of Blues.

Yes, the one in Disney.

They're SICK, RIDICULOUS, and UNDERRATED.

It's just the four of them creating all their sound.

It's depressing that after a concert like theirs, knowing that people still listen to autotuned garbage like "P-p-p-p-p-pokerface" or "If you liked it then you shoulda put a ring on it" or "I got hugs by lightning bugs."

^^These are NOTHING compared to their live show.

On Thursday I got to meet author Rick Yancey. Author of the Alfred Kropp series. I'll get a picture up later.

Tonight I finally got around to watching A Walk to Remember. I'd DVR'd it a few weeks ago, and I finally found time to watch it.

LOVED it. And no, not just because of the semi-obvious Switchfoot lovefest that the musical supervisor threw for them.

Inspired a new song.

And that leads into a slightly amusing epiphany I had only moments ago.

My two main songwriting influences are Kate Voegele and Switchfoot frontman, Jon Foreman.

This means my two main musical influences are Jon & Kate.

Well, I think it's safe to say that those two collaborating [musically] wouldn't be a trainwreck.

So if you see a story like that on MLIA, that was me. ;)

And now I feel the urge to listen to Relient K's Christmas EP.

oh yeah, Michael Jackson's movie comes out on the 28th. Something else happens that day, I can't quite remember what, though...

So, I read this book on Friday. Yes, in one day, it was an easy read-through.

I wanted to see why everyone loved it so much.

-Shallow plot

-Text speak

I decided I'd rather not go all over town trying on article after article and spen $50 on sometinhg I'll only wear once when I can just put sometinhg together from my closet. All I really need to get are a light pink hairbow (which I can probably just make),light pink t-shirt, and converse-style sneakers, which I could just pick up at Target, Wal-Mart, or Payless.

There's soemthingto be said for thriftiness.

Fall Festival!

Oh my...I can barely type right now I'm so hyped up.

My stepsister and I just got back from the fall festival at our old elementaery school.

BEST ff they've ever put on.

The music room had karoake, and we belted it out on HSM, Beatles, and other classic songs.

I got a dirty look from the teacher when I tried to make a screamo version of "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star." =(

I told those I know to just pretend that dancing I did never happened...

...NO, I'm NOT implying anything....

In acting class these past few weeks, we've been working on talents.

So I decided to give singing a shot, since I don't sound horrible on some songs.

I chose "Stay" by U2, and ever since this one kid has been like, "You're that one girl who sings," and then he'll start saying the lyrics of it.

Today, my friend's irthday party was at a local rollerskating rink.

To sum it up:
Me + Rollerskating = EPIC FAIL

Just when I was getting good at it, you know what happens?

I struggle to slow/ turn as someone in front of me starts to slow down, and I end up falling smack on my back.

I couldn't breathe after that, I seriously felt like I was dying.

I'm better now, I merely had the wind knocked out of me. Thank goodness for Tylenol/BenGay!

And thank goodness that tomorrow isn't an activity day in P.E.
